What exactly is expediting?
Expediting is a special niche market in the transportation industry dedicated to time sensitive freight.
Are there any company owned trucks?
No, Bolt Express does not own any of its own trucks; we are 100% owner operators.
Do I have to own my own truck?
Not necessarily. While Bolt Express is comprised of 100% owner operators, there are opportunities for those who do not have their own truck to drive for a fleet owner.
Can I own multiple trucks?
Yes, Bolt Express encourages the ownership of fleets. There are many additional benefits that fleets are able to take advantage of within the Bolt Express system.
Is there a lot of down time in the expediting industry?
Just like any other area of the transportation industry, there are going to be times where you may have down time between loads, expediting is no different in that aspect.
Are there dedicated or regional runs available?
There are some dedicated and/or regional routes available, depending on what type of vehicle you drive. Please contact our recruiting department for details at 800-545-4789.
Will I have a dedicated dispatcher with whom I will be working with every day?
Yes, you will have a dedicated team, called Load Planners, with whom you will work on a daily basis in order to handle any of your issues, questions, or needs.
What is your fuel surcharge?
You will receive 100% of the contracted fuel surcharge, based on the national average per week.
Does Bolt Express pay for dead head miles?
Yes! We will pay you for dead head miles after the first fifty miles.
Does Bolt Express utilize forced dispatch?
Absolutely not! Of course your business will be more profitable with more loads, but we will never force you to take a load.
Am I limited as to when I can call dispatch?
Of course not. Our state of the art Operations Center is staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
How much over the road (OTR) experience does Bolt Express require?
We prefer 3 months of OTR experience for Class B and 1 year OTR experience for Class A license holders.
